239B.19 JOBS program availability. 1. Within available funding, the department shall make JOBS program services and benefits available to individuals who are participating in the JOBS program. 2. An individual’s efforts under the JOBS program to attain a certificate of general educational development, high school diploma, or adult basic literacy where the individual has not previously received the certification shall be optional except as otherwise required by this chapter or by federal law. The department shall provide incentives to encourage optional efforts to attain such certifications. 3. When needed, arrangements shall be made for the care of children during the absence from the home of an individual participating in the JOBS program. 97 Acts, ch 41, §20, 34
