252.14 Homestead — when liable. When expenditures have been made for and on behalf of a poor person and the person’s family, as contemplated by section 252.13, the homestead of such poor person is liable for such expenditures when such poor person dies without leaving a surviving spouse, or child, as defined in section 234.1.
