256.129 Duties of state board. The state board shall do all of the following: 1. Approve the multiyear state plan developed in accordance with applicable federal laws and regulations governing career and technical education. 2. Adopt rules prescribing standards for teachers in the six career and technical education service areas specified in section 256.11, subsection 5, paragraph 'h', in approved programs. 3. Adopt rules prescribing standards for approval of school district career and technical education programs; and community colleges with career and technical education programs; and practitioner preparation schools, departments, and classes, applying for federal and state moneys under this part. 4. Adopt rules prescribing standards for the career and technical education service areas specified in section 256.11, subsection 5, paragraph 'h'. 5. Adopt rules prescribing standards for approval of career and technical education planning partnerships, collaborations, and regional centers in accordance with section 256.136. The rules shall establish a process for the establishment of no fewer than twelve and no greater than fifteen regions in which regional career and technical enters in accordance with section 256.136.
