314.18 Responsibility for bridge inspection. The department, counties, cities, and other public entities shall be responsible for the safety inspection and evaluation of all highway bridges under their jurisdiction which are located on public roads, in accordance with the national bridge inspection standards. These responsibilities include inspection policies and procedures, inspections, reports, load ratings, quality control and quality assurance, maintaining a bridge inventory, and other requirements of the national bridge inspection standards. 2006 Acts, ch 1068, §4
