455A.14B Waubonsie state park user fee pilot program. 1. A Waubonsie state park user fee pilot program is established within the department. Notwithstanding section 461A.35A, the department shall develop and administer the pilot program at Waubonsie state park as follows: a. The department shall charge an entrance fee of five dollars per vehicle if the vehicle is operated by a nonresident of the state, which the nonresident operator shall pay. b. A nonresident may pay a fee of forty dollars for a pass that grants daily entrance into the state park for the entire calendar year during which the pass was purchased. The nonresident may purchase a second pass for use for a different vehicle for the calendar year for fifteen dollars. c. The department has the authority to charge separate fees to a resident and nonresident for park amenities. The department may also identify situations in which a reservation fee or other access fee will be accepted in lieu of the entrance fee established by this section or when the entrance fee established by this section will not be charged. d.
