455B.269 Taking water prohibited. 1. A person shall not take water from a natural watercourse, underground basin or watercourse, drainage ditch, or settling basin within this state for any purpose other than a nonregulated use except in compliance with the sections of this part which relate to the withdrawal, diversion, or storage of water. However, existing uses may be continued during the period of the pendency of an application for a permit. 2. A person, other than the aquifer storage and recovery permittee, shall not take treated water from a permitted aquifer storage and recovery site within this state.
