468.276 Claims for damages — filing — waiver. Any person filing objections or claiming damages or compensation on account of the construction of such improvement shall file the same in writing in the office of the auditor of the county in which the person’s land is situated, at or before the time set for hearing. The person may, however, file it at the time and place of hearing. If the person shall fail to file such claim at the time specified the person shall be held to have waived the person’s right thereto, but claims for land taken for right-of-way for any open ditch or for settling basins need not be filed.
