522B.8 Exemption from examination. 1. An individual who applies for an insurance producer license in this state who was previously licensed for the same lines of authority in another state shall not be requiredto complete an examination. This exemption is only available if the person is currentlylicensed in that other state or if the request for licensure is received within ninety days ofthe cancellation of the applicant’s previous license and if the prior state issues a certificationthat, at the time of cancellation, the applicant was in good standing in that state. Thecertification may be obtained through the producer database. 2. A person licensed as an insurance producer in another state who moves to this state shall make application within ninety days of establishing legal residence to become a residentlicensee pursuant to section 522B.5.
