523.12 Equity security defined. The term 'equity security' when used in sections 523.7 through 523.11, this section, and sections 523.13 and 523.14 means any stock or similar security; or any security convertible,with or without consideration, into such a security, or carrying any warrant or right tosubscribe to or purchase such a security; or any such warrant or right; or any other securitywhich the commissioner shall deem to be of similar nature and consider necessary orappropriate, by such rules and regulations as the commissioner may prescribe in the publicinterest or for the protection of investors, to treat as an equity security.
