524.214 Subpoena — contempt. 1. The superintendent and, upon the approval of the superintendent, any examiner or other employees of the banking division shall have the power to subpoena witnesses, tocompel their attendance, to administer an oath, to examine any person under oath and torequire the production of any relevant books or papers. Such examination may be conductedon any subject relating to the duties imposed upon, or powers vested in, the superintendentunder the provisions of this chapter or any other chapter administered by the superintendent. 2. Whenever any person subpoenaed pursuant to subsection 1 of this section neglects or refuses to obey the terms of such subpoena, to produce books or papers or to givetestimony, as required, the superintendent may apply to the district court of Polk county forthe enforcement of such subpoena or the issuance of an order compelling such complianceas the court may direct. 3. The refusal of any person to obey an order of the district court, issued pursuant to subsection 2 of this section, without reasonable cause, shall be considered a contempt of thatcourt.
