537.3204 Notice of assignment. A consumer is authorized to pay the original creditor until the consumer receives notification of assignment of rights to payment pursuant to a consumer credit transactionand that payment is to be made to the assignee. A notification which does not reasonablyidentify the rights assigned is ineffective. If requested by the consumer, the assignee mustseasonably furnish reasonable proof that the assignment has been made and unless theassignee does so the consumer may pay the original creditor.
