556F.2 Warrant — appraisal — return — record. The district judge, district associate judge, judicial magistrate, or district court clerk shall thereupon issue a warrant, directed to some peace officer, commanding the peace officer tosummon three respectable householders of the neighborhood, who shall proceed withoutdelay to examine and appraise the property, including cargo, tackle, rigging, and otherappendages if applicable, and to submit a report regarding the examination and appraisal tothe magistrate, judge, or clerk issuing the warrant, who shall transmit a certified copy to thecounty auditor to be recorded in a lost property book in the auditor’s office.
