558.8 Affidavits explanatory of title — presumption. Affidavits explaining any defect in the chain of title to any real estate may be recorded as instruments affecting the same, but no one except the owner in possession of such real estateshall have the right to file such affidavit. Such affidavit or the record thereof, including allsuch affidavits now of record, shall raise a presumption from the date of recording that thepurported facts stated therein are true; after the lapse of three years from the date of suchrecording, such presumption shall be conclusive.
