589.17 Conveyances by spouse under power. A conveyance of real estate executed more than ten years earlier, in which the husband or wife conveyed or contracted to convey the inchoate right of dower through the other spouse,acting as the attorney in fact, by virtue of a power of attorney executed by the spouse, thepower of attorney not having been executed as a part of a contract of separation, are notinvalid.
