602.8103A Transmission of record on appeal. 1. a. The clerk of the district court shall be solely responsible for transmitting the record on appeal to the clerk of the supreme court in civil and criminal proceedings. The clerk ofthe district court shall only transmit the record to the clerk of the supreme court upon therequest of the appellee, appellant, the attorney for the appellee or appellant, or the appellatecourt. b. The requirements of paragraph 'a' shall not be delegated to another party. The appellee, appellant, the attorney for the appellee or appellant, or any agent of the appellee orappellant shall not transmit any part of the appellate record to the clerk of the supreme court. 2. For purposes of this section, the record on appeal consists of the original documents and exhibits filed in district court, transcripts of the proceedings, and a certified copy of thedocket and court calendar entries prepared by the clerk of the district court in the case underappeal. Exhibits of unusual size or bulk are not required to be transmitted by the clerk ofthe district court unless requested by the appellee, appellant, the attorney for the appellee orappellant, or the appellate
