643.12 Delivery bond. The officer, having taken the property or any part thereof, shall forthwith deliver the same to the plaintiff, unless, before the actual delivery to the plaintiff, the defendant executes abond to the plaintiff, with sureties to be approved by the clerk or officer, conditioned that thedefendant will appear in and defend the action, and deliver the property to the plaintiff, ifthe plaintiff recovers judgment therefor, in as good condition as it was when the action wascommenced, and that the defendant will pay all costs and damages that may be adjudgedagainst the defendant for the taking or detention of the property.
