657A.8 Assessment of costs. The court may assess the costs and expenses set out in section 657A.6, subsection 2, and may approve receiver’s fees to the extent that the fees are not covered by the income fromthe property. The receiver shall pay the costs and reasonable attorney fees of a plaintiff whorequested an inspection pursuant to section 657A.1A unless an interested party not in defaultwho appeared for the inspection objects to the fees and costs in whole or in part. The courtshall determine the merits of such objection. If the court finds that a neighboring landownerhas pursued an action pursuant to this chapter in bad faith, the court may assess attorneyfees against the neighboring landowner and may bar such neighboring landowner from filingfuture actions under this chapter.
