809A.19 Immunity orders. 1. If a person is or may be called to produce evidence at a deposition, hearing, or trial under this chapter or at an investigation brought by the prosecuting attorney under section809A.18, the district court in which the deposition, hearing, trial, or investigation is or maybe held shall, upon certification in writing of a request of the prosecuting attorney, issue anorder, ex parte or after a hearing, requiring the person to produce evidence, notwithstandingthat person’s refusal to do so on the basis of the privilege against self-incrimination. 2. The prosecuting attorney may certify in writing a request for an ex parte order under subsection 1 if in the prosecuting attorney’s judgment both of the following apply: a. The production of the evidence may be necessary to the public interest.b. The person has refused or is likely to refuse to produce evidence on the basis of the privilege against self-incrimination. 3. A person shall not refuse to comply with an order issued under subsection 1 on the basis of a self-incrimination privilege. If the person refuses to comply with the order after beinginformed of its existence by the presiding officer, the person
