158.3 03 Educational segment on prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma encouraged. Kentucky schools are encouraged to include a segment concentrating on the prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma, as defined in KRS 620.020, during a student's final y ear of study at Kentucky high schools. Important areas of concentration for this segment would include information related to the prevention and recognition of pediatric abusive head trauma. This segment should also suggest methods of calming crying infant s, techniques for caregivers to use to calm themselves when confronted with an infant that is crying inconsolably, and a discussion relating to selecting responsible care providers for infant children.
