161.1221 Out -of-field teaching. (1) The Education Professional Standards Board shall define 'out -of-field' teaching and inform all local school districts of the definition. (2) By November 15 of each year, the Education Professional Standards Board shall identify every teacher assigned class es out -of-field in the current school year and shall inform the Kentucky Department of Education. (3) The Kentucky Department of Education shall provide to each school district a summary of the teachers identified as teaching out -of-field and give the dist rict opportunity to correct the situation during the year. No teacher shall be reduced in salary due to being involuntarily moved out -of-field or being hired into a position out of his or her field. Emergency certification shall not be a valid reason for reducing any certified teacher's salary. Effective: June 20, 2005 History: Amended 2005 Ky.
