309.304 Powers and duties of board -- Administrative regulations. (1) The board shall administer and enforce the provisions of this chapter and shall have the responsibility of evaluating the qualifications of applicants for licensure and the issuance of licenses. (2) The board may issue subpoenas, examine witnesses, pay app ropriate witness fees, administer oaths, and investigate allegations of practices violating the provisions of this chapter. (3) The board shall promulgate necessary and reasonable administrative regulations in accordance with KRS Chapter 13A and this chapt er to effectively carry out and enforce the provisions of KRS 309.300 to 309.319, including regulations to establish authorized fees. Fees shall not exceed amounts necessary to generate sufficient funds to effectively carry out and enforce the provisions o f KRS 309.300 to 309.319. (4) The board may conduct hearings in accordance with KRS Chapter 13B and keep records and minutes necessary to carry out the functions of KRS 309.300 to 309.319. (5) The board may renew licenses and require continuing education a s a condition for renewal.

(9) Beginning in 1999, on October 1 of each year, the board shall submit a report to the Legislative Research Commission indicating: (a) The current number of licensed interpreters; and (b) The number of complaints received against interpreters a nd any disciplinary action taken within the previous calendar year.
