353.1 70 Putting pressure on strata -- Wells may remain open if conforming to Federal Safe Drinking Water Act. The owner or operator of any well that produces oil or gas may allow the well to remain open for the purpose of introducing air, gas, water, or other liquid pressure into and upon the producing strata for the purpose of recovering the oil, if the introduction of air, gas, water, or other liquid conforms to the requirements of Section 1425 of the Safe Drinking Water Act (Public Law 93 -523 as amended) an d any regulations associated with it.
