RS 11:159 - State superintendent of education; commissioner of higher education; participation The state superintendent of education and the commissioner of higher education shall not be required to participate in any public retirement system; however, they shall have the option of retaining membership in any state or statewide public retirement system for which they are eligible provided that their retirement benefit computation shall be in accordance with R.S. 11:231(B).
