RS 11:3134 - Board of trustees; composition The board of trustees shall be composed of five members, consisting of the Mayor who shall be president of the Board, two members of the Board of Aldermen who shall be chosen by that body; one active fireman below the rank of Captain; and one active fireman of any rank, both to be elected on the first Monday of each year by the active firemen voting by secret ballot. These elected members shall serve a one year term. Should a vacancy occur during a term of office a special election shall be held within 60 days to elect a successor to serve the unexpired term. The president of said board shall vote only in case of a tie. The board of trustees shall select one of its members to act in the capacity of secretary-treasurer of the board.
