RS 13:1406 - Continuous session; vacation or absence of judge The family court shall be in continuous session throughout the year. However, each judge shall be entitled to a vacation of one month during each year. In the event of a family court judge's vacation, absence from the parish or inability to serve, he may designate one of the other judges of the family court to serve temporarily in his place, or the judges of the Nineteenth Judicial District Court may name one of their number to serve temporarily in his place.
