RS 13:2487.6 - Bond of marshal A. The city marshal shall be a resident elector of the territorial jurisdiction of the court. Before entering upon the discharge of his duties he shall give bond in favor of the city judge conditioned for the faithful performance of his duties and for the legal adjustment of all claims incurred against him in his official capacity. B. Except as provided in L.R.S. 13:1882(B), the amount of the bond, the premium whereof shall be paid by the governing authority of the city or ward in which the court is domiciled, shall be $1,000 where the population of the territorial jurisdiction of the court is 10,000 or less. In all other cases, and except as otherwise provided by law, the amount of the bond shall be $5,000. This bond may be sued upon by any person damaged in any way by the marshal in the discharge of his official duties. Acts 1964, No. 102, §6.
