RS 13:3857 - Duty of recorder of mortgages to file and record notice The recorder of mortgages shall file for record in his office the notice described in R.S. 13:3852 tendered him by the sheriff, shall record it in the order and under the serial number (if any) assigned to it on filing, and shall index it in the direct index to mortgages in the names of all persons appearing in the notice as owners of the property seized.
