RS 13:42 - Judicial Compensation Commission; creation; membership A. There is hereby created a commission known as the 'Judicial Compensation Commission', hereinafter referred to as the 'commission'. The commission shall consist of fifteen members, subject to Senate confirmation: one shall be appointed by the governor; four by the president of the Senate; four by the speaker of the House of Representatives; two by the chief justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court; one by the Conference of the Courts of Appeal; one by the Louisiana District Judges Association; one by the Louisiana City Judges Association; and one by the Louisiana State Bar Association. B. Two of the members appointed by the president of the Senate, two of the members appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives, and one of the members appointed by the chief justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court shall be representative of the general public and shall not be attorneys nor members of the legislature.
