RS 13:4722 - Abatement of nuisances; right to maintain action The district attorney, in the name and on behalf of the parish and without the payment of any costs, the sheriff or the parish governing authority through its parish attorney or other designated representative, in the name of and on behalf of the parish and without the payment of any costs, or any ten residents of the election precinct wherein any nuisance described in R.S. 13:4721 exists, whether natural or artificial persons, shall have the right to file a suit in the district court having jurisdiction thereof in this state, or in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans in the event it has jurisdiction, to abate the nuisances described in R.S. 13:4721 and to have the owner, lessee, sublessee, agent or other occupant thereof declared guilty of maintaining a public nuisance.
