RS 13:4863 - Jurisdiction The action shall be brought in a court which would have jurisdiction of an action by the plaintiff against the defendant for recovery of an amount in excess of five hundred dollars, exclusive of interest and costs, or property, rights or other relief of the nature described in the petition, having a value in excess of five hundred dollars, and arising out of the contract, transaction or acts described in the petition.
