RS 13:5604 - Payment of salaries by city The salaries of the criminal sheriff of the parish of Orleans, his deputies, assistants and clerks shall be paid by the city of New Orleans. The governing authority shall make appropriation therefor in its yearly budget and, through its proper officers, transfer said appropriation to the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's general fund, for issuing of all checks in payment of all the salaries, semimonthly, by the criminal sheriff for the parish of Orleans.
