RS 13:5709 - Expense of investigation and autopsy; Lincoln Parish In the parish of Lincoln, the parish or municipality within which an investigation or autopsy is held shall pay the expense thereof, together with the coroner's fees, when the coroner makes out an account of the expenses and certifies under oath that the charges are not more than authorized by law; however, the Lincoln Parish police jury may by resolution assume all responsibility for expenses of the coroner including but not limited to fees for autopsies, costs of medical supplies, and costs of transporting the body.
