RS 13:5974 - Additional powers A. In addition to the powers otherwise granted by this Chapter, districts shall have the authority to execute such contracts and other instruments and take other action as may be necessary to fulfill the purposes of this Chapter or to carry out the functions of the office of the clerk of court. B. Any contract, agreement, lease, sublease, obligation, or other instrument entered into by the district shall be legal, valid, and binding upon the district, including any subsequent ex officio chief executive officer of the district, notwithstanding that the term of such contract, agreement, lease, sublease, obligation, or other instrument extends beyond the expiration of the term of the then current ex officio chief executive officer of the district.
