RS 14:102.9 - Interference with animal research; research laboratory or farm A. Interference with animal research is any of the following: (1) The unauthorized entry of any research laboratory or research farm with the intent of releasing or causing the release of any animal housed or kept within such research facility. (2) The intentional or criminally negligent damaging of any research laboratory or research farm. (3) The intentional or criminally negligent unauthorized release of any animal housed or kept within any research laboratory or research farm. B. Whoever commits the crime of interference with animal research shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than one thousand nor more than five thousand dollars and may be imprisoned, with or without hard labor, for not more than one year.
