RS 14:210 - Taxicabs, tampering with meter forbidden; penalty A. No person shall, without the written consent of the owner, tamper with or alter in any manner or form the fare-registering device of any taxicab or automobile for hire. B. Whoever violates this Section shall be fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than two hundred dollars, or imprisoned for not less than six months nor more than one year, or both.
