RS 14:217 - Purchase or sale of seafoods prohibited under certain conditions; penalties A. It shall be unlawful for any person: (1) Who is engaged commercially in catching or taking fish, shrimp, oysters, or other seafood in a joint adventure or other undertaking whereby he receives a percentage of the proceeds of the sale of the catch, or a share of the catch itself, to sell or offer for sale any of such products, obtained in the joint adventure, except as provided for and in accordance with the terms and conditions of such joint adventure, without the express or implied consent of his co-adventurer or co-adventurers, or (2) Who is employed on a salary or any other basis in the commercial catching or taking of fish, shrimp, oysters, or other seafood, to sell or offer for sale such products without the express or implied consent of his employer, or (3) To purchase any fish, shrimp, oysters, or other seafood, knowing it is offered for sale in violation of Paragraph (1) or (2) of this Subsection. B. Any person who violates any provision of this Section shall be, for the first offense, fined not less than one hundred dollars nor more than two hundred dollars and, for the second and
