RS 15:1424 - Juvenile delinquency and gang prevention advisory boards; membership A. Within each law enforcement planning district advisory council a juvenile delinquency and gang prevention advisory board shall be established consisting of at least eleven members, at least three of whom shall be minorities. The chairman of the commission or his designee shall serve as a member and shall appoint at least four members representing child advocates in the community, business leaders, parents, and a student attending high school. B. Each advisory board shall also include the following representatives: (1) Two law enforcement officials appointed by the chairman of the commission from a list submitted by the Louisiana Sheriff's Association and the Louisiana Association of Chiefs of Police. (2) An assistant district attorney assigned to a court having juvenile jurisdiction appointed by the chairman of the commission from a list submitted by the Louisiana District Attorneys Association. (3) An assistant public defender or an attorney residing in the district who handles juvenile matters, appointed by the district public defender.
