RS 17:1210 - Jury duty leave authorized; salary A. Any person who is regularly employed by a city or parish school board shall, upon call or subpoena to serve on a federal, state, or district petit, grand, or trial jury, be granted a leave of absence by such school board for the period of time required for such jury duty. Such leave of absence shall be granted without loss of sick, emergency, or personal leave or any other benefit, and shall not be deemed to interrupt service accumulated toward sabbatical leave. B. No person who is regularly employed by a city or parish school board shall suffer loss of salary because of being granted such leave of absence; however, for the period of time during which he serves on a jury, such teacher shall be paid the difference between his regular salary as a teacher or other school employee and the amount he receives as a juror. Such teacher or other school employee shall be responsible for reporting such salary difference to the superintendent of the city or parish school system in which he is employed.
