RS 17:2120 - Patriotic organizations; use of school facilities; student recruitment A. As used in this Section, 'patriotic organization' means a youth group that is listed as a patriotic society in Title 36 of the United States Code. B. Any patriotic organization may use any public school building or property for student participation in its activities at times other than instructional time during the school day. C.(1) Each public school principal shall grant representatives of any patriotic organization the opportunity to speak with and recruit students to participate in the organization during school hours for the purpose of informing students of how the organization may further the students' educational interests and civic involvement in order to better their schools, their communities, and themselves. (2) The organization shall provide verbal or written notice to the principal of its intent to speak to the students and submit proof of liability insurance for the organization. The principal shall provide verbal or written approval of the specific day and time for the organization to address the students. Acts 2022, No. 485, §2.
