RS 17:407.84 - Departmental duties and responsibilities A. The department shall administer the provisions of this Part and shall be responsible for all matters pertaining to establishing the scholarship amount and the method of payment to eligible early learning staff. B. The department shall develop guidelines and procedures to implement the provisions of this Part and to establish the amount of scholarships. The guidelines for determining the scholarship amount may include the number of training hours earned, the type of training selected, the cost of the training to early learning staff, the benefit of the training to the state and to the children served, and other points considered essential by the department.
