RS 17:95 - Superintendents as treasurers of school funds The superintendent of a city, parish, or other local public school board shall be the treasurer of all school funds appropriated by the state for the school board, or raised, collected, or donated for the support of the public schools under the jurisdiction of the board; he shall provide receipts for all such funds to the treasurer of the state, the collector of parish taxes, and others as may be appropriate or required. The school treasurer shall give an indemnity bond in such sum as may be determined by the school board, made in favor of the governor or his successors in office, and the school board shall pay the premium of said bond. The superintendent shall receive no compensation whatever for his services as school treasurer. The treasurer shall deposit the school funds in such bank or banks as may be designated by the school board under the provisions of the law. Acts 2008, No. 77, §1, eff. July 1, 2008.
