RS 19:136.11 - Acquisition by third persons The governing authority shall provide an equal opportunity for all natural or juridical persons, including but not limited to sole proprietorships, partnerships, corporations, or limited liability companies, whether for profit or nonprofit, to acquire property expropriated pursuant to the provisions of this Part when the governing authority decides to sell, convey, or otherwise dispose of any property expropriated pursuant to the provisions of this Part. Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions, the governing authority may establish a preference for the allocation of these properties to low-income families, directly or through for-profit or nonprofit organizations which will have rehabilitated or constructed housing on the property.
