RS 23:62 - Definitions As used in this Part: (1) 'Community action agency' means a public agency or private nonprofit corporation having authority under its charter or bylaws, or both, to administer community action programs, which has been designated as a community action agency by the parish governing authority. (2) 'Community action program' means a community based and operated program which provides services, assistance, and other activities of sufficient scope and size to give promise of progress toward the elimination of poverty in a community. (3) 'Low income' means a household income level established by the Louisiana Workforce Commission, after public hearings, below which an individual will be qualified for services delivered through a community action program.
