RS 23:896 - Removal of tenants or laborers or their effects from premises without owner's consent; penalty It shall be unlawful for any person, except in the discharge of a civil or military order, to go on the premises or plantations of any citizen of this State, in the night time or between sunset and sunrise, and move or assist in moving any laborer or tenant or the effects or property of any laborer or tenant therefrom, without the consent of the owner or proprietor of the said premises or plantation. Whoever violates the provisions of this Section shall be fined not less than fifty dollars nor more than one thousand dollars, or imprisoned for not less than ten days nor more than six months, or both.
