RS 29:4 - National guard The national guard is divided into two classes, the active national guard and the inactive national guard. A. The active national guard consists of the regularly commissioned, enlisted, organized, and uniformed military forces of Louisiana who participate in apportionment of the annual appropriation provided by the Congress of the United States of America for the support of the national guard. B. The inactive national guard consists of all persons qualified for enlistment in the active national guard and who are enlisted in the inactive national guard and the officers and enlisted men transferred thereto pursuant to federal laws and regulations.
