RS 3:3 - Powers and duties of commissioner of agriculture A. The commissioner of agriculture shall be known as the commissioner of agriculture and forestry. Whenever the phrases 'commissioner of agriculture' or 'commissioner of agriculture and immigration' appear in any statute, rule or regulation, contract, or other document, those phrases shall be deemed to refer to the commissioner of agriculture and forestry. B. The commissioner shall direct the department, and except as otherwise provided by law shall adopt all necessary rules and regulations for the purpose of implementing the laws relating to agriculture and forestry. All rules and regulations shall be adopted in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act. Acts 1986, No. 581, §1, eff. July 2, 1986.
