RS 3:3207 - Appointment of agent for service of process Any person who is not a resident of or domiciled in this state or who has not appointed an agent for service of process in this state and who engages in any activity regulated by this Chapter does by that action appoint the secretary of state as his agent for service of process of any legal document. Venue for any legal action against any person initiated by service of process on the secretary of state shall be in the parish or parishes in which the violation occurred or the damages were sustained.
