RS 3:4382 - Definitions For the purposes of this Part the following definitions shall apply to the terms used herein: (1) 'Urban forestry' means the cultivation and management of trees in urban areas for their present and potential contribution to the physiological, sociological, and economic well-being of urban society. (2) 'Urban forest' means those native or introduced trees and related vegetation in the urban and near-urban areas including, but not limited to, street trees, park trees, residential trees, natural riparian habitats, and trees on other private and public properties. (3) 'Urban area' means an urban place, as that term is defined by the United States Department of Commerce. Added by Acts 1980, No. 746, §1.
