RS 3:556.12 - Distribution of proceeds A. On or before the last day of the first month of each quarter the department shall transmit the refunds requested for the previous quarter and deliver the balance of the proceeds of the assessments to the board. B. The department may retain the actual costs of collecting and transmitting the funds, not to exceed three percent of the gross amount of the funds collected from each assessment. C. The board shall retain such amounts as are necessary for the administrative expenses of the board and shall disburse the remaining funds to fund the following: all costs related to advertising, promotion, and marketing of Louisiana crawfish; research which will aid in carrying out the purposes of this Part; efforts to increase consumption of Louisiana crawfish; providing producers, distributors, retailers, and consumers with educational information as to the nutritional and health value of Louisiana crawfish; and fulfilling any other purposes authorized by this Part.
