RS 32:879 - Registration after suspension of inoperable vehicle A. Any owner of a vehicle that is no longer in use or operable and the registration for which has been suspended, revoked, or withdrawn under any provision of this Chapter because of the accident, after complying with the requirements of this Chapter, shall be allowed to apply to register another vehicle when he furnishes to the commissioner one of the following: (1) A copy of any sale, transfer, or assignment of the vehicle that is no longer in use or operable. (2) The registration plate and registration certificate for the vehicle that is no longer in use or operable. B. In the event the owner has no copy of the sale, transfer, or assignment or a registration plate and registration certificate for the vehicle, the owner may furnish the commissioner a written statement indicating the vehicle with the suspended registration is no longer in use.
